As a life long Alaskan who has spent time in about every hotel/motel in the area I select the Valdez B&B over all the other places to stay in Valdez. I go back to 1952. Over the last decade or so I have had nothing but positive experiences with this B&B. The reason I am familiar with places to stay in Valdez is because it is one of two closest supply areas for me during the summer season which I spend in the Wrangell Mountains. In case you doubt my creditability, at least as far as connections with this enterprise go, I know nothing about the owners other than to have met the old boy who owns the joint on a number of my visits."
Delta Junction, with an area population of 4500, is the true end of the Alaska Highway. From here, going north or south, you will be traveling on the Richardson Highway, which starts in Valdez mile 0 and ends in Fairbanks, mile 364.

Review - "This hotel is a very economical option in Rochester and is connected to the Mayo clinic by the underground walkway which is very convenient if you are going there. The room was very clean, especially the bathroom which is a stckler for me. There is also a small, empty refrigerator in the room which was left open and left a slight smell in the room. An ironing board and iron is not available in the room and there is no option for movies. Of course no room service but lots of restaurants close by. There is an interesting notice left on the bathroom sink that asks the guest to use the supplied "rag" for removing make-up or cleaning up dirty things rather than using the good linens (which are OK but postage stamp size.) Would recommend with caveats."

Review - "I am a Choice, Hilton and Holiday Inn Gold Traveler and these are my lodging preferences. I was booked here (by a client) for a conference and thus had no choice. The conference room was large and very suitable.
The hotel is old but the location is good. The rooms have been remodeled and the mattresses/bedspreads appear to be new. The shower is modern with a curved rod and updated shower head. They offer FREE breakfast (full) and 20% off on meals in the restaurant...which was fine. The TV was new and clear.
I did not feel unsafe or worried during my stay as a single woman. They do not have a working key card entrance in the back door but this town is not too large, so it did not bother me....if it were the city then perhaps I would be concerned!
I would not choose this location over the Holiday Inn Express (down the street) but it was comfortable, clean and quiet. The pool was clean and seemed to be a draw for families. I try to stay in the chains where I have attained status (for reward points) but this location was fine for those who are just looking for an overnight or two."

Review - "Nicely located close to the university and downtown. River views from one side of the hotel. The rooms are pretty basic, but comfortable. There was no temperature control in my room, and it was a bit cold. The restaurant is casual, with little ambience, but a huge variety on the menu, very well prepared food, with modest presentation.
This hotel is a reasonable choice for moderate budget travel, particularly business.
Reception staff, I found to be in need of a bit more training in client contact: some slowness, abruptness and discomfort are apparent on them. One of them was openly upset and irritated with her colleague, in front of a line of people waiting, because the latter didnt submit a bill in a timely manner."

Review - "September 9 and 10, 2006, my wife and I stayed at Bombay Peggy's "Hotel." This small, gold-rush brothel themed hotel was authentically appointed with rich reds and greens in the carpets, walls and drapes. (Pics are at bombaypeggys.com) Our room, the "Sweet, which we chose because we failed to make timely reservations for a smaller room, was spacious, with two queen beds and acres of space within which to fit the table, wet bar, television, and refrigerator. The pedastal sink, slipper tub with a 7 inch rain showerhead, and wooden toilet seat lent an authentic old fashioned air to the bathroom. "
